Snow White # 2

I had a little friend from down the street come over to tell me all about her birthday cake. I just happened to have the other Snow White cake done and ready, so when she saw it... Cinderella went away and Snow White was her new dream come true. :)

Snow White

This Snow White cake was so much fun. It was a yellow cake, with chocolate filling and buttercream frosting. It brought me back to being a little girl and loving the Disney princesses. Oh who am I kidding... I have never stopped loving them like a little girl. No one says you HAVE to grow up in every way :)

Wilton yearbook Demo Cake

I did this cake for the Wilton Yearbook launch at Micheal's. There was a little girl and her mom there to watch from beginning to end, and so I let her help out with the design and decorating too. I think she did a great job! :)

Army Tank

This is my cake replica of a 10 year old's drawing. I had a picture drawn by the birthday boy of what he wanted his cake to look like. There is something about this age group that I just love (Maybe that my oldest is turning 10?? I don't know. They are still kids, but almost teens. They are so funny at this age!)
Happy birthday to Noah!

A favorite place for a favorite person

Today is my Mother-in-Law's birthday. And I am so lucky to have her in my life, and as the Grandma to our boys... and she raised a pretty studly gentleman of her own if I do say so myself! :) So when I say that she is one of my favorite people... I mean that with my whole entire heart! Split Rock Lighthouse is one of my favorite places in the world- there is something really magical, majestic, mysterious and almost haunting about the place... (insert your own favorite adjective there!)... The birthday girl loves lighthouses, so I thought I would give this a whirl!

The cake is lemon poppy seed with a whipped lemon frosting. The lighthouse is molded out of fondant and so are the rocks. I have thought about this cake for almost 2 years... I am so glad to have finally made it! ;)

Turning one rocks!

What a cool theme for a 1st birthday party! Who doesn't love rock music, guitars, and drums?

The guitar is a yellow cake with buttercream frosting. It was airbrushed to be black, and the accessories are made out of fondant. The neck is a big huge Rice Krispy bar covered in buttercream.

The drum is a chocolate cake with white buttercream frosting and airbrushed to be red. The details on the drum are also fondant.

Doing this cake for Landon makes me feel OLD! When I was having my own babies, his Mama was the age that my kids are right now. I don't "feel" any older, does that mean anything?? Didn't think so. Hmph.
