Don't you forget that. Not a huge fan of cake? Don't fret... don't feel left out. You can still enjoy super fun, and personalized treats just like your cake loving friends. Cookies are fun and tasty too, right? And hey, fewer dishes, less mess... why does cake get all the glory?
You can spell out messages... Happy Birthday! Congratulations! Will you marry me?

Unicorns, Butterflies, and Rainbows, Oh My!
What a fun cake... it kind of makes me smile in the pit of my stomach... which is usually not a place you hear of people smiling. THAT my friends, is how happy this cake makes me feel- like a carefree, happy little girl, who's heart is filled with sunshine and butterflies, rainbows, unicorns, and flowers. Geesh. Gush gush! The filling was a nice surprise, too. It's my newest filling... rainbow! ;)
How can you NOT smile?? (If you haven't seen the ceiling in my scrapbook room, you'd laugh because it is a pastel version of this cake filling. True story.)
What is on the other side of the rainbow? Why unicorns, and pure joy. That's what.
I might just be addicted to making little "things" for the tops of cakes. It is just waaayy too fun. :)
The end. ;)

Hello Kitty
The original idea for this cake was found on the House of Kitty blog. It was nice to make a "girly" cake! With 3 boys, I don't usually get the chance to tiny my frosting pink!!! But to my surprise, the boys didn't walk by and scoff at my little pink cake all decked out in cuteness... they walked by and said "Awwww, Mom. That's really cuuutee!" Hehehe... Don't tell them I told you!
Darth Vader Cake 3D
On May 4th, I got on Facebook after I dropped my boys off at school. I saw a few of my friends wishing people a "Happy Star Wars Day" and a bunch of people saying "May the Fourth be with you." At first I thought there was some inside joke about a speech impediment... you know, force, forth. ;) Then I wondered, no, maybe the forth of something... but, may the fourth of "what" be with you? It didn't dawn on me until later (When my sweet thang kindly told me it was May the 4th... like the date) what they were talking about. I laughed, and then channeled the force (or the 4th), because this was the day I was going to tackle my very own sculpted Darth Vader head. I was a little freaked out.
I figured it would either look like Vader, or Java the Hut.
Here is the structure of his big old head before the carving began!
And just for laughs, I had to throw this in! This is classic.... 5 year old helps mom make frosting. Gets over ambitious when dumping sugar into mixer, and nails mom's foot and leg. Mom at first says "OH NO!" Then after .30 seconds, asks frantic son who is saying "I'm sorry! I'm sorry--- I will clean you off!" to get the camera thus confusing the heck out of him... "What? You think this is funny?"he asks me... Umm... Yes. Yes I do.
